Meet the medical needs of students entering the clinic. Provide proactive support and assistance to school administrative leaders, teachers, parents, and students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Have knowledge of medical needs/issues of students who report to the school clinic
- Distribute and log student medications as needed
- Discuss with parents/care givers medical concerns and treatment requirements (lice, ringworm, pink eye, etc.)
- Assure all necessary medical vaccinations have been received by students and are properly documented
- Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations in the classroom and school
- Maintain health/medical records for students in the current operating program
- Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the school
- Check and respond to voice mail and school email regularly
- Share responsibility as a backup for the receptionists as needed
- Keep the various filing systems up to date and organized
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Job Skills and Competencies:
- Education Level – Nursing Degree
- Demonstrate basic proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheets, educational databases, e-mailing, and accessing the Internet
- Be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and have disciplined time-management skills
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to lift 20 lbs
