The PET, Nuclear Medicine Specialty Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and canceling exams for patients. This person performs pre-registration, reviews faxes, scans documents, communicates exam preparations, handles call backs, and performs various other clerical tasks. The PET, Nuclear Medicine specialty scheduler ensures accurate data entry during the scheduling process, including documentation of necessary clinical information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Display excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Place outgoing calls to schedule patient exams when receiving scripts and electronic orders.
  • Answer incoming and place outgoing calls in a courteous and professional manner—identifies self and company.
  • Communicate and interact with all departments effectively and professionally.
  • Show care and compassion for all callers.
  • Properly schedules exam - updates account information at the point of scheduling.
  • Enter accurate information in RIS for appointment scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation and comment entry.
  • Pre-register, fax reports, scan documents, input clinical data as needed for appointment and request prior exams as needed.
  • Handle VIP Physician PET, Nuclear Medicine scheduling requests through phone call, and/or chat.
  • Handle scheduling requests from our Sales Team through phone call, and/or chat.
  • Place calls to referring physicians for patients expressing difficulty with scheduling.
  • Maintain self-control when dealing with difficult patients and or situations.
  • Maintain good rapport with referring physicians, secretaries and clinical site staff.
  • Utilize RIS filter screens to answer questions associated with insurance, procedures and preps.
  • Maintain professionalism with both internal and external customers.
  • Meet incoming call volume quota.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • CCCE Tier 2 Scheduler
  • Must be able to type fluently while speaking with callers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance plans.
  • Ability to pre-register and schedule patients rapidly and accurately.
  • General knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Provides clear written and verbal communication.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized.

Starting Pay:

$18.00 / hour
