Assists SBA department personnel to meet the goal of underwriting the maximum number of highest quality SBA loans in a timely manner. Activities may include, but are not limited to, spreading financial statements, prepares all SBA required documentation included in loan packages submitted to Loan Services, monitors, maintains and adheres to credit quality goals of the portfolio and assists with preparing portfolio review packages, reports and credit quality detail as required for the Criticized Asset Committee (CAC) for their assigned portfolios. Maintains commercial lending authority of up to $250,000 in aggregate commercial exposure in order to ensures timely and efficient processing of line of credit renewals and annual SBA loan reviews. 1. Assists SBA department personnel to meet the goal of underwriting the maximum number of highest quality SBA loans in a timely manner. Activities may include, but are not limited to, spreading financial statements, preparing all SBA required documentation included in loan packages submitted to Loan Services.
2. Assists SBA Underwriters with managing the existing portfolio and resolving any deficiencies prior to the packages leaving the department.
3. Monitors, maintains and adheres to credit quality goals of the portfolio.
4. Assists with preparing portfolio review packages, reports and credit quality detail as required for the Criticized Asset Committee (CAC) for their assigned portfolios.
5. Maintains commercial lending authority of up to $250,000 in aggregate commercial exposure in order to ensures timely and efficient processing of line of credit renewals and annual SBA loan reviews.
6. Monitors and updates the SBA Portfolio on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate and timely 1502 reporting (standard remittance form used to report information on the 7(a) loans in a lender's portfolio, such as secondary market payments, guaranty balance and loan status information, and SBA's basis-point fees) to Colson Services. This is crucial to the integrity and standing of FCB and their relationship with the government SBA requirements.
7. Prepares, submits and monitors monthly 1502 Report within required deadlines.
8. Updates and maintains SBA loan status in ETran (external software).
9. Monitors and records loan disbursements to align with FCB loan approvals and SBA authorization requests.
10. Maintains up to date on all external regulations exceptions and takes appropriate actions with any regulation changes that occur.
11. Must have knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loan guarantee programs, special documentation, eligibility and reporting requirements.
12. Ensures adherence to the underwriting and loan policy standards and accuracy of the risk ratings, as well as upgrades and downgrades assigned.
13. Supports the department’s commitment to ongoing quality service enhancement policy.
14. Provides periodic reports to management as required.
15. Completes timely implementation of program changes and updates.
16. Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance from community office personnel.
17. Communicates with local and regional SBA representatives.
18. Works with multiple lines of Business such as Special Assets, Corporate Banking and Credit Administration.
19. Assists the SBA Department personnel to possess knowledge and understanding of the SBA programs.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________
1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred or minimum of three (3) years of commercial loan underwriting or related experience is required.
2. Functions with assigned deadlines and goals.
3. Proficient reading, writing, grammar skills, analytical and mathematical skills, communicative and interpersonal relations skills.
4. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
