Requirements: *Attention all Uber or Lyft Drivers*
This position pays $20 per passenger, per trip. Rides are scheduled 24-48 hours ahead of time and on average are 20-30 minutes.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Route Driver is responsible for safely transporting clients to various locations within Orange and Seminole counties.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Safely transports clients to and from various locations within Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
  • Arrives at destinations on schedule.
  • Interacts with clients in a professional manner.
  • Plans for traffic, construction and weather delays.
  • Uses navigation applications to determine the best route.
  • Ensures the safety of all passengers by ensuring seatbelt use at all times.
  • Ensures the vehicle is fueled and ready for use; arranges for vehicles repairs as needed.
  • Completes related tasks as directed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: No educational requirement necessary.

Experience: Minimum of five years driving experience.

Computer Skills: Must have the ability to navigate traffic using navigation applications.

Certifications & Licenses: Must have a valid Class E driver’s license in good standing.

Other Requirements:

  • Open availability required: must be available during days, evenings and weekends to work around students' school schedule.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must pass level 2 background check.
  • Must use personal 4-door vehicle to transport clients; vehicle must be reliable.
  • Must pay for transportation costs including gas and vehicle maintenance.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, auto registration, auto insurance minimum coverage of $50,000 property and $100,000 personal injury liability.
  • 10-panel drug screen required / annual drug screen required.
  • Must have no more than two moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the previous three years and no more than four moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the previous five years.
  • Must have no major driving convictions in the past five years (including, but not limited to, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while impaired, failure to stop and report an accident, driving while license is suspended or revoked, possession of drugs or open containers of alcoholic beverage, reckless driving and/or participating in a speed contest, drag or highway race, or attempting to elude authorities).
  • Must comply with initial and continuous monitoring Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Bilingual is a plus (English / Spanish); ASL is a plus.
  • Must have own smartphone with data plan and high-speed internet connection.

Supervision: No supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: Local travel within Orange and Seminole counties.

Environment: Public and community settings.

Physical: Standing, walking, prolonged periods sitting in a transportation vehicle. Must

be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

Vision: See within the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to

read computer screens, printed documents and directions.

Hearing: Hear within the normal audio range with or without correction.
