Job description

Registered Nurses will provide acute, peri-operative and post-operative care for patients in the Medical-Surgical and Critical Care Unit. This will include assessing the patient's condition through the use of both medical and diagnostic tests, performing medical treatments, and advising patients on the best course of action to take. Registered Nurses will also supervise other nurses, aides and volunteers in a patient's care, as well as perform additional clerical work.

Responsibilities:

• Implement a plan of care for a patient.
• Communicate with healthcare staff about patient's status and treatment plan.
• Report a patient's status to the attending physician.
• Communicate with healthcare staff about patient's condition and treatment plan.
• Record medical information about a patient upon admission, examination, and treatment.
• Follow the policies established by the regulatory and accrediting bodies for registered nurses.
• Prepare patients for operations and procedures using manual skills and knowledge of the human body.
• Prepare a surgery room for surgery.
