With our partnership with the University of MN, the Birthplace supports the development of student nurses and residents through onsite observation and training. This addition also helps continue to improve our evidence based practice and ongoing professional learning!
This position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.Responsibilities/Job Description:

Newborn Family Care Center-Postpartum:
- 24 beds Mom/Baby private rooms
- Couplet Care, average of 3 couplets day/evening shift, 4 couplets night shift.
- Care delivery team: RN and NST/NA.
- Professional growth encouraged in professional certifications and/or IBCLC.
- Inpatient Lactation Consultant on unit.
- Newborn IV antibiotic administration.

- Provides postpartum care for the newly delivered mother and her newborn infant.
- Manages complex medication and infusion therapies
- Performs advanced monitoring using current technology
- Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
- Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
Required:
- MN RN license
- BLS for healthcare providers
- 1 year OB or Med/Surg experience
Preferred:
- BSN
- NRP certification
