The Hospital Director Magnet Programs and Nursing Excellence will have the opportunity to work for a 300+ bed, Magnet designed acute care hospital located in Maryland. This acute care hospital is known for being one of the top hospitals in Maryland, recently received a “Grade A” by Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, Healthgrades “America’s 100 Best” for their several surgical procedures, and has been listed on Becker's Hospital Review “100 Great Hospitals in America."

To continue and maintain ANCC Journey to Magnet Excellence, the hospital is actively seeking a Nurse Director to lead the upcoming Redesignation process. Responsibilities include developing structures and processes for the organization to meet the Magnet requirements, streamlining processing, providing educational programs and resources to employees throughout the facility, managing budgets, and working as the primary liaison for the executive leadership team, front line staff and the Magnet appraisal team. Additionally, the Hospital Director Magnet Programs and Nursing Excellence is expected to attend ANCC conferences and must be up to date on evidence based research and best practices to successfully update policy procedures, conduct gap analysis, spearhead research programs, analyze patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction scores, and write the application for the Magnet Recognition Program.

The Magnet Nursing Director is required to have previous experience overseeing the Magnet journey process for an acute care hospital. The RN Director Magnet Program must be familiar with submitting the Magnet application, leading processes for writing the magnet Documents, submitting Magnet Documents to the American Nurses Credentialing Center ANCC, preparing the hospital for site visits. The Nurse Director Magnet Journey will be a Registered Nurse, is master’s prepared, and is a seasoned leader with a clinical background, professional practice and development, research, quality, and Magnet program experience.
