Job description

Brevard Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented and personable Retirement Specialist to be responsible for the processing and coordination of all aspects of an assigned retirement program such as the Teachers Retirement System (T.R.S.), the Florida Retirement System (FRS), DROP, the optional defined contribution plan, and tax-sheltered annuity (TSA) deferred compensation 403 (b), and 457 (b) retirement plans.

Requirements for Retirement Specialist I:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) year of verifiable and closely related experience required
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access computer programs
• Type at 45 correct words per minute.

Requirements for Retirement Specialist II:

• AA or AS Degree from an accredited college or university
• Three (3) years of verifiable and closely related experience required
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access computer programs
• Type at 45 correct words per minute

BEGINNING SALARY: Based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees:

Retirement Specialist I: Grade HH: $16.76 hourly
Retirement Specialist II: Grade JJ: $17.83 hourly
