POSITION TITLE: Retail Store Associate STATUS: Part-Time

Position Summary– Retail Store Associate is responsible for providing customer and donor care while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized sales floor. Responsible for hanging the Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s clothing, tags the items, and prices all textile items. Processing all house wares, toys, books and electrical items. Processing all soft goods including personal accessories such as purses, belts, hats, caps, bra, underwear, socks etc. Also, household accessories such as rugs, sheets curtains, towels, pillows, etc. Responsible for serving as a gate keeper to quality merchandise for the store. Other assigned duties as needed.

Job Duties:

Assist in stock rotation according to the color rotation system.

Clean all items for optimum pricing.

Clean, prepare, and price shoes/purses for sales floor.

Colorize and organize stock on shelves as trained.

Complete a production report daily.

Follow all policies and procedures at all times.

Hang all larger items for best display.

Hang textiles using the correct hanger for the merchandise.

Keep a well maintained and clean work area.

Keep the store and restrooms neat and clean at all times.

Merchandise the window and other displays on the sales floor.

Operate the cash register, credit card machine, and answer the telephone.

Price each piece using the Good, Better, Best pricing system.

Promote friendly and helpful customer service and donor care.

Stock shelves and racks with processed merchandise.

Tag and prices each piece using the Good, Better, Best pricing system.

Tag each item using the red color barb.

Take trash out to trash container.

Test all electrical items for working condition.

All other duties as instructed by the Store Manager.

Assist donors as they arrive.

EDUCATION: High school diploma/GED required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age to apply. Prior work experience in retail setting helpful but not required. Basic PC knowledge. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Customer satisfaction oriented.
