Cosset Bath and Body is looking for an independently driven Retail Assistant Store Manager (ASM) for our store in Layton Hills Mall, Utah. As the Assistant Store Manager you are accountable for the day-to-day retail operations of the store in conjunction with the VP of Retail and District Manager. This position has accountability for the stores sales results, the overall leadership and development of the associates, creating a positive work environment, and exceptional customer service. The Assistant Store Manager ASM should have the aptitude to provide advanced product knowledge, and to help promote Cosset’s purpose, which is to provide relief from life’s stress through therapeutic experiences.
RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER RATE of PAY: $15.89 / hour + Cosset Benefits Program
RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER HOURS: Full-time; up to 39 hours per week; 5 shifts per week, required to work Saturdays and 1-2 closing shifts.
RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER SUMMARY: Management of the operations and activities of the store and 3-8 employees; works closely with Cosset's Leadership Team in making decisions that contribute to the store’s success.
RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the sales floor, providing high-quality customer service and maintaining merchandising and cleanliness standards.
- Ensures payroll, inventory, and shrink goals are achieved.
- Ensures that staff are fully trained and have a full knowledge of all products.
- Ensures the sales floor is fully stocked and that merchandise and visual standards are being upheld.
- Works with Store Manager / Regional Manager to develop creative plans to increase store sales.
- Provides training, sets performance goals, and provides evaluative feedback to all direct reports.
- Maintains a high level of customer service by ensuring that merchandising/recovery is completed and that register, and customer service area is processing customers in a timely manner.
- Recruits, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
- Supervises deliveries, sorting of merchandise, stocking shelves, ticketing merchandise, and the reconciliation of all cash and inventory transactions.
- Prepares all required reports, paperwork and completes bank deposit audits.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises retail employees within the store.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and training employees; scheduling, ensuring shifts are worked and cutting shifts, and insuring store is open during mall directed hours; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Responsible for employee’s maintaining the Brand Experience with customer service, visual standards, pricing, promotions, POS functions, personal appearance, presentation and communication.
- Ensures all Policies, Safety Guidelines and SOPs are coached to employees and held accountable.
- Coach and hold employee's accountability to completing required documents.
- Prepare and present communication for efficient running of the store and communicates directives provided by leadership.
RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18+ years old.
- 1 year of leadership or management experience.
- 2 years of retail sales experience or equivalent.
- 3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent selling capabilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of retail operations, human resources, and shrink reduction plans.
- Knowledge of computer operations, knowledge of Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating employees.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient at algebraic equations and analyzing numbers.
- Proficient presentation skills.
- Basic competence in employees' duties and tasks.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

RETAIL ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Required to stand and walk for full shift.
- Frequently required to climb ladders.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Continually required to verbally communicate with one or several humans.
- Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard/iPad.
- Frequently required to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
