This position has an anticipated start date is July 1, 2023. This posting is for a Nursing Faculty position that requires theoretical and clinical knowledge of critical care nursing. This position provides classroom, clinical laboratory, and simulation instruction to nursing students from diverse backgrounds; implements nontraditional and innovative methods of instruction; uses effective interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills to teach in an integrated curriculum; and demonstrates commitment to student academic success. The primary teaching focus will be critical care in the Maricopa Nursing RN program. To teach the theoretical component of the Maricopa Nursing RN program a master’s degree is required. This position may also teach in the Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, and/or Continuing Education programs. This position participates in in-person, online, and hybrid course facilitation along with clinical simulation and other alternative clinical activities.

• Supervises and facilitates student learning for a diverse population of students in simulation, clinical, and classroom settings
• Develops written syllabi/course outlines and all course materials; evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught; prepares and grades exams; and monitors students' academic achievement.
• Maintains and enhances knowledge of the subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in nursing through attendance at conferences, seminars, and/or workshops;
• Maintains office hours; serves on and participates in department, college, and district-wide committees and activities.

1. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree plus three (3) years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, or a BSN and a graduate degree and two (2) years experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care, or a graduate degree in nursing and two (2) years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care.

2. Must hold an Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona by the first day of employment.

3. Must be able to meet health and safety requirements including CPR certification, Fingerprint Clearance Card, and drug testing.

4. Must complete EDU 250 – Teaching and Learning in the Community College or equivalent within two years of date of hire.

• Will be required to instruct at multiple GWCC campuses

• Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other infectious diseases
• Assignment may extend past the normal academic semesters
• MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
