AMHC is searching for a Cook at their Crisis Stabilization and Residential Center in Calais. The primary responsibility of the Cook is to plan and prepare meals for residents of the Calais Residential programs. The Cook prepares food by current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, in line with established procedures to ensure food safety at all times. The Cook is responsible for all aspects of food service including meal planning, purchasing of food, cooking, coordination of meals and snacks to be prepared by others, cleaning of all equipment used for meal preparation, and maintenance of all appliances used for cooking and meal preparation. This person also cleans the kitchen thoroughly and provides cleaning for other parts of the building as identified. The chosen candidate will be expected to demonstrate the core values of AMHC by showing Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Service, Collaboration, and Respect to co-workers, clients, and community members.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• 2 years of meal planning and preparation for groups is necessary
• A diploma from a culinary school is preferred

Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Planning and preparing meals with Excellence for those staying at the centers
• Demonstrating Integrity by being Respectful and Compassionate with clients and staff to create a menu that meets any dietary requirements, medical and cultural differences, and other needs of the clients and staff
• Collaborate with staff to develop a plan for the preparation of servicing meals and duties when not present that keeps in mind the need for the Services we provide

Schedule:

• This is a 40-hour-per-week position
