As a Research Technician III, you will:

  • Conduct skilled microbiological testing of client food samples for pathogens and indicator organisms at the bench.
  • Make media, log samples, testing kits, and supplies, monitor and verify equipment.
  • Participate in quality assurance of media and test kits.
  • Maintain records.
  • Ensure safe disposal of biohazardous waste.
  • Update the chemical/media inventories.
  • Assist the lab manager in training student lab assistants.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, or microbiology plus one year of lab or related experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Skilled at utilizing weigh balances and pipettors.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet software skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an ISO certified lab.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique, making media, and working under ISO quality requirements.

$20.00/hr minimum
