Position Description:

The Envirome Institute is looking for a Research Manager to provide support with the submission of extramural grant proposals. The selected candidate will meet individually with investigators to discuss grant application requirements, draft budgets, prepare internal forms for institutional approval, and complete proposal paperwork for submission. At the same time, the candidate will develop and maintain a database of research activities for the Envirome Institute; help develop tools to track research work assignments, indirect cost recovery funds, pending, awarded, and outstanding grant proposals for Federal, State, and other contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works with faculty and others to prepare grant proposal forms and assists with development of competitive proposals, budgets, and submissions.
  • Communicates with external funding offices to clarify policies, procedures, and deadlines. Interprets and explains funding agency and campus requirements.� Provides training and education to researchers on the proper policies and procedures per University, State, Federal, and Sponsor guidelines.
  • Reviews proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with funding agency and campus regulations.
  • Develops and maintains a database of different research activities.
  • Provides support to faculty, staff, and divisions with post award questions/issues regarding financial and reporting. (i.e., expense allowability, progress reports etc.).
  • Participates in relevant trainings and workshops/conferences/seminars designed to increase knowledge of professional research administration concepts and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
