FL97 is seeking an outstanding Research Associate, Molecular Biology. You will be part of an agile, cross-functional team responsible for building the autonomous molecular biology platform and executing closed-loop product discovery campaigns. Together with biologists, machine learning scientists, software developers, and automation engineers, you will work toward building and automating AI-driven molecular biology and biomolecule production processes across a variety of valuable applications. The ideal candidate brings primary expertise in molecular biology, synthetic biology, and nucleotide chemistry, with an understanding of how to build high quality and scalable in-vitro assays and biomolecule production platforms. Programming experience would be a benefit and a background in industrial drug discovery is preferred.

Candidates should have experience and interest in:

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or synthetic biology with preferably 1 year of hands-on experience working in a laboratory
• Experience with computational design and assembly of plasmid constructs using software such as SnapGene or Geneious
• Experience in standard molecular biology techniques, including generating, purifying and characterizing nucleic acids, mammalian cell culture and running reporter-based assays
• Experience with laboratory automation and robotics is a plus
• Interest in building scalable bioproduction processes and assays and developing robust, high-quality workflows for high throughput data collection
• Prior experience in Python and/or R or an interest in learning programming with these languages

• Provide hands-on training to Research Associates and computational colleagues
