Title: Research Associate in Mass Spectrometry for Biochemical and Biophysical Assays
Level: Research Associate/Contractor
Location: Cambridge Alewife/Cambridge Crossing
- The Leads Discovery & Optimization (LDO) department is a dynamic organization that supports the entire continuum of drug discovery (from lead identification to clinical candidate delivery) at client.
- The organization leverages state of the art technologies, complemented by deep subject matter expertise and broad scientific knowledge, to deliver innovative and comprehensive preclinical in vitro datasets to support our drug discovery pipeline in disease areas such as cell therapy, oncology, immunology, and cardiovascular diseases.
- The Biochemistry & Biophysics Team in LDO Cambridge is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to carry out assays utilizing our mass spectrometry platform.
- The successful candidate will be able to follow protocols, learn new techniques and procedures quickly, and has an understanding of mass spectrometry principals.
- The candidate should have a B.S. degree with 0-2 years of lab-based experience.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with mass spectrometer (MS) scientists to run and utilize mass spectrometry for established assays
- Execute assays on the interaction of recombinant proteins with small molecule inhibitors/binders using mass spectrometry
- Perform routine plate-based biochemical and biophysical assays as needed
- Analyze and report results to the corporate database and project teams
- Keep and maintain a detailed notebook that can be reproduced by other individuals
Technical Skills:
- Practical understanding of the principals of LC-MS/MS
- Fundamental training and experience with basic lab techniques such as pipetting, solvent handling, titrations, and lab safety, etc. Experience running mass spectroscopy is a plus
- Familiarity with biochemical assay design and setup for generation of IC50 data
- Detail oriented capable of following complicated protocols and keeping track of multiple plates simultaneously
- Ability to independently generate precise, reliable data and analyze the data

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour
