What you will do:
Perform inspections and provide reliability recommendations for all site cooling towers- Perform concrete and paving inspections and maintain database of repair areas with priority, cost, expected completion date, etc.
- Good working understanding of paintings and coatings and make recommendations on asset corrosion prevention
- Serve as site’s refractory expert to support maintaining and improving the performance and reliability of all production assets where refractory is used such as primary reformer, secondary reformer, waste heat boilers, etc.
- Keep database on rail and spur repairs located on plant property, maintain the database and manage the repairs and maintenance of the sites rail infrastructure
- Must be willing to obtain necessary training to support job functions
- Participate in root cause failure analyses to determine the root cause of equipment failures and recommend improvements in design, administrative, and/or PPM (predictive and preventive maintenance) measures to reduce or eliminate failures
- Participate in the site’s Mechanical Integrity and Process Safety Management programs
- Attend training and certified on specific API codes and standards such as RP 573, RP 583, Spec 12P, ASME, etc.
- Assist with equipment repairs and working with original equipment manufacturers and outside shops for repair of primary and secondary reformers, waste heat boilers as required), package boilers, etc.
- Support turnaround and outage planning
- Collaborates across departments on plant issues relating to areas of expertise
- Investigate new materials, methods, and equipment with the aim of reducing maintenance costs, improving reliability, improving productivity, and enhancing safety
- Assist with capital projects regarding your area of expertise as a maintenance and reliability representative to ensure proper equipment design, assign asset criticality, determine required spare parts, determine inspection types/intervals, and actively involved in QA/QC responsibilities
- Develop and issue recommendation memos for key stakeholders
- Write good solid technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations
- Maintain infrastructure End of Life document and work with project superintendent to ensure these are built into the capital plan (where justified)
- Manage assigned MRM capital projects including scope, cost, and schedule
- Be a competent person in asbestos care and removal
- Be a competent person in lead-based paint testing and manage the removal
- Be a competent person in scaffold design, erecting, inspecting, and dismantling
What you will bring:
- 10 plus years of related experience. High School diploma and associates degree recommended.
- Maintaining and optimizing assets - Experience in a fertilizer facility or related industry is preferred
- Utilizing Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), and Mechanical Integrity (MI) methodologies
- Working knowledge of general plant trades of scaffold erecting, carpentry, industry safety procedure
