POSITION: Regulatory Compliance Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Distribution Manager

LOCATION: 75 Prado Rd. San Luis Obispo, CA

EMPLOYEE TYPE: Non Exempt Full Time (Some overtime as required)

COMPENSATION: $33.65 per hour to $36.05 per hour DOE

The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator is responsible for Regulatory Compliance at all JB Dewar sites ensuring all tests, inspections and needed repairs are communicated, documented, and distributed as required in the timeframe specified for each. Responsible for regulatory reporting and training related to safety & compliance. This would include working cohesively with JB Dewar Employees, Customers and Potential Customers with Regulatory questions, inspections, compliance, and recommendations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Understand/evaluate current & new regulations as they affect JB Dewar business
• Application and training of new and existing laws and regulations for JB Dewar
• Participation in regulatory site inspections
• Maintain a positive working relationship with State and Local regulators, vendors, team members & stakeholders
• Manage Regulatory data base, responsible for insuring information is accurate and up to date
• Regulatory contact for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County as well as State of California
• Provide annual training of:
• Spill Prevention Control, Countermeasure Plan (SPCC)
• Designated Operator annual site operator training
• Hazardous Materials Business Plan
• Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
• Maintaining SDS Database – updating as needed
• Additional safety related training as required
• Oversee the legal and correct handling of accumulated Hazardous Waste
• Oversee the Safety Program, audit Safety Meeting Logs, maintain incident records
• Assist Emergency Response Team during emergency events
• Assist in OSHA Compliance
• Assist in ADA compliance concerns
• Consult with Maintenance Staff and Management as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficient in the following Computer Programs: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management skills with ability to meet established deadlines consistently.

DESIRED SKILLS: (training will be provided to obtain certification needed within first 120 days of employment)

• California State Designated Operator Certification
• California State Service Technician Certification
• Division Of Measurement Standards Service Technicians License
• Knowledge of service area.
• Petroleum and fuel product knowledge.
• Knowledge of spill/overfill safety and recovery procedures.
• Hazardous-Materials certified trainer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess at least a California Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• At least 5 years experience dealing with Regulatory Agencies in a compliance responsibility role

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Frequent standing, sitting, bending, lifting, hand & finger movements associated with typing, 10-key and telephone operation, near, mid-range and far vision.
• May be required to climb ladders at heights up to 30 feet
• Lifting up to 50 lbs
