Registration/Check Out Clerk - Shiloh Clinic - Bilingual

Position Summary
This position is responsible for coordination of the front office activities of the clinic as well as assisting non-English-speaking patients with general information. These include: receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, taking messages, referring calls appropriately and obtaining correct information from patients. Must have effective communication with patients, co-workers, supervisor, and physicians. This position must be able to prioritize clinic needs and be flexible to assist in other areas as requested. The incumbent is expected to provide effective translation of verbal information regarding clinic paperwork, and privacy. Only employees certified to translate medical information will facilitate communication between the medical provider(s) and the patient.

Educational & Skill Competencies Required
The ability to operate standard office equipment and effectively communicate with customers, as usually demonstrated by completion of high school studies and a minimum of one year of office experience, is required. Ability to learn computer skills for position is essential. Bilingual in English/Spanish for purposes of assisting patients with clinic paperwork and/or as needed in the clinical setting with the medical staff members. The employee must be deemed competent/certified to translate medical terminology by an appropriate entity when translating specific medical information.
