About River Edge Behavioral Health
Serving more than 10,000 Georgians, River Edge continues to be one of the state's leading resources for mental health, substance use disorder treatments and supports as well as individuals with intellectual and development disabilities. The full continuum of River Edge Behavioral Health services provide state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families and adults annually, who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
The Registered Nurse based in the River Edge Recovery Unit outpatient clinic setting is a licensed health professional. The nurse is a member of a multidisciplinary team providing services under the direction of the nurse manager. The nurse will also work with patients age 18 years and older who are participating in other outpatient programs and require further physical assessment.
Responsibilities:
· Assess client health problems and needs.
· Develops and implements nursing care plans and maintains medical records.
· Administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients.
· May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
· May supervise support or lower level staff. Observes nurses and visits clients to insure proper nursing care is provided.
· Monitors all aspects of client care.
· Monitors, records, and reports symptoms and changes in clients’ conditions.
· Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care plans.
· Assures that unit is adequately staffed each shift.
· Provides education to client and family.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
· Fully COVID Vaccinated
Current Georgia license to practice as a registered professional nurse.
· One plus years of professional nursing experience.
· Ability to perform CPR/First Aid.
· Strong safety orientation. Ensures the safety and security of clients and staff.
· Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatments, standards of care, and nurse practice act.
· Knowledge of the procedures for medication administration and can administer oral, sublingual, and IV medications; knowledge of pharmacology.
