In the 30-bed Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU (NST ICU), our highly engaged Registered Nurses are part of a Model Care Team, focused on excellent standardized practices and evidence-based patient-centered care.

NST ICU specializes in caring for acute patients with a variety of disease states. As a destination center for higher level of Neuro-Surgical Trauma care in Southern California, NST ICU implements progressive programs and therapies. As a member of our team, you will gain experience in:

• Trauma surgery care, trauma care, or care of critically injured trauma patient

• Comprehensive Stroke Care

• Neurosurgery

• EVD, Camino, Licox, Lumbar drain

• Interventional Radiology

• Shock and advanced resuscitation measures

• Mechanical circulatory support

o CRRT, MTP, Target Temperature Management

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. They will work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

The ideal candidate will have one year of adult ICU experience, is committed to elevating their professional practice, and seeks to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. The NST ICU is committed to education and hands-on training opportunities to take nurses from novice to expert through our customized training with Clinical Mentors, Educators, and one-on-one preceptorships. This is a Full Time, 12-Hour Night Shift, position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Required Qualifications:

• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
• One year of recent RN experience in an adult ICU
• California Registered Nurse License
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• NIH Certification
• Six (6) months of RN Progressive Care experience
