Position: Registered Nurse, Clinic Operations
Scope of Responsibility
Delivers high-quality and safe nursing care services that reflect the philosophy and standards of care as written in the SaguaMPG policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiates and documents postpartum follow-up calls 24-and 72-hours after discharge from the hospital.
- Refers and encourages patients to attend one-on-one breastfeeding sessions with SaguaMPG’s lactation consultant to help promote a healthy breastfeeding relationship.
- Collaborates with Health Care Providers in the event that a patient has a postpartum complication or concern that needs addressed promptly.
- Educates new OB patients prior to their first prenatal appointment at designated appointment times.
- Provides specialized nursing skill services while functioning under established protocols and in accordance with the Health Care Provider’s orders, such as intravenous catheter insertion and administration of medications and vaccines.
- Functions as designated daily triage nurse to help assist the workflow and efforts of the clinic staff.
- Assures appropriate implementation of infection control and safety.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Documents services provided in designated patient charts.
- Attend meetings as requested for continued improvement in the workplace.
- Assists in providing in-service programs for staff as requested.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement Programs.
- Participates in personal professional growth and development including effective verbal and written communication.
- Assumes additional responsibilities for SaguaMPG as requested.
- Responsible to the General Manager in the area of administrative policies and procedures

Qualifications
- At least one year of Labor & Delivery and/or Maternal & Newborn Care experience required.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Guam.
- Maintains current certification in adult CPR.
