Experience:1 Years Minimum Experience Required, Telemetry Required

Requirements: MI RN license, BLS, ACLS

Shift: Night 6:30pm-7am 3x12hrs

Pay Rate: $60-$65/hr

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team. As an RN in the PCU, you will provide specialized care to patients who require a higher level of monitoring and intermediate care. You will assess patients' conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Provide direct patient care to individuals admitted to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, perform assessments, and provide treatments as prescribed.

Monitoring and Assessment: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen saturation, cardiac rhythm, and other physiological parameters. Recognize and report any changes or abnormalities promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients. Communicate and coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and effective care delivery.

Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques. Provide emotional support and address any concerns or questions that patients or their families may have.

Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Ensure that all electronic health records and charts are complete and up-to-date.

Adherence to Protocols: Adhere to established protocols, policies, and procedures of the Progressive Care Unit. Follow infection control practices, medication administration guidelines, and other safety protocols to ensure patient well-being.

Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and provide immediate care to patients in critical situations. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), manage airways, and initiate appropriate interventions as needed.

Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of patient outcomes. Assist in data collection, audits, and performance improvement activities as required.

Professional Development: Stay updated on current trends and advancements in progressive care nursing. Attend educational programs, seminars, and workshops to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience as an RN, preferably in a progressive care or critical care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in administering medications and operating medical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
