Medix is hiring for a Operating Room Nurse to work within an outpatient surgery center in Hershey, PA. This is a Monday- Friday position with the opportunity to grow and get additional specialized training in the nursing field.

Overview
The OR Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing activities related to care of the patient experiencing a surgical procedure. The staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the young adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from 6 months through adolescence. Our scope of service includes urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, plastic and general surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Addresses the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs/responses of the patient.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change.
• Demonstrates a positive can do attitude
• Work is accurate and complete
• Demonstrates knowledge and follows AORN standards
• Functions as a team member
• Completes initial and annual competencies as required.
• Maintains licenses and certifications.
• Adheres to dress code, attendance punctuality, meal break and rest periods
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Attends required department meetings.
• Assumes responsibility for continuing education requirements

Required Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• O.R. experience is not required. Candidate must be willing to complete a comprehensive training program.
• Current Pennsylvania license as a Registered Nurse
• Current in CPR and ACLS
• Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
• Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse
