Job Title: Registered Nurse - Float

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Float plays a critical role in providing patient care by providing support to various units in a hospital or healthcare facility. The RN - Float is responsible for providing skilled care to patients and ensuring they receive optimal care by serving as a floating resource to meet staffing needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients
• Administer and monitor medications according to established protocols
• Assess patient conditions and notify physicians of any changes in patient status
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning
• Provide support and guidance to nursing staff as needed
• Comply with all hospital policies, procedures and regulations

Qualifications and Skills:

• Active Registered Nursing license in the state of practice
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts and be available for on-call assignments
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively prioritize patient care needs
