Registered Behavior Technician/Behavioral Therapist (RBT)
Job description
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Behavior Therapist to work with a child with behavioral challenges in the West Hills area M-F for 2-3 hours shifts between 3pm-7pm, and Saturdays from 8am-10:30am.
The RBT will be responsible for dealing with a child who suffers from behavioral challenges. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach language, communication, socialization, compliance, independence, and self-help skills. Additionally, the candidate will work to reduce challenging behaviors that impede learning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work one to one with a child with autism
- Implement ABA interventions and procedures
- Collect accurate and consistent data related to programs and target behaviors
- Provide feedback to parents/caregivers and teachers outlined within the program plan
- Accept and apply ongoing feedback provided by supervisors, administration and clinical director
- Communicate parental concerns and emergencies to supervisor immediately
- Maintain professionalism with consumers, parents/caregivers, and all FMBT personnel
- Utilize structured and unstructured time to implement outlined goals
- Utilize NCPI techniques as part of a BIP when a consumer engages in high intensity aggressive behavior
- Attend and participate in monthly clinical meetings
- Attend and participate in ongoing agency wide trainings
- Communicate electronically via phone and email
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Ability to play and interact with clients on the floor for extended durations of time
- Sit/stand/walk/run/jump/crouch/kneel/reach above head/crawl/bend and lift at least 50 pounds at any time
- Maintain safety of the client and surrounding environment during session
- Experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis principles (Additional training provided)
- Experience working with special needs population
Desired Educational and Field Experience:
- Current RBT certification
- Possess a BA/BS degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, psychology, child development, education, special education, social work, or a related field.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Provide proof of immunization records and complete a TB test
- Must have a driver's license, reliable car and maintain proof of auto insurance
- Afternoon and evening availability M-F 3pm-8pm, Sat 8am-10:30am
