Job Title: Regional Sales Manager - Industrial Specialties (Midwest Region)
Reports to: Vice President, Industrial Specialties Strategic Business Unit
Location: Midwest Region: Chicago, IL based, but open to other Illinois cities, covering Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our growth and expansion strategy in the Industrial Specialties Market has created an outstanding opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager (Midwest Region) to join Acme-Hardesty, a five-time (2019-2023) Best Places to Work in Philadelphia award winner. Under the direction of the Vice President of the Industrial Specialties Strategic Business Unit, you will develop sustainable, profitable sales to targeted accounts in support of the Company’s strategic business objectives, as well as maintain and develop relationships with customers and prospects. Your region will be based in the Midwest United States.
This role requires continuous interaction with internal contacts (leaders of businesses, customer service, and support teams), external communication with all levels of individuals at Customers, Suppliers, and Industry Associations, and requires the competency to develop external network within business communities to deliver agreed upon objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITES
- Travel 60% or as required to meet the objectives and requirements of the role
- Manage day to day business of territory by maintaining and growing both new and existing accounts.
- Drive new product sales through solution selling of new supplier offerings
- Manager all aspects of our Sales Program: Sales Process, Sales Funnell, & Territory Management
- Maintain up to date data in our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool
- Develop good working rapport with Customer Service Representatives and other sales support service people in the company.
- Embrace and advance the Acme-Hardesty Cultural Beliefs
- Participate in applicable trade shows and trade organization meetings to extend Acme-Hardesty’s involvement in the industry and marketplace.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS DESIRED
- 10 years’ experience in consultative selling to industrial customers, preferable in the Industrial Specialties or related industry
- Knowledge of palm, coconut, and castor markets is highly desirable; although, expertise in other markets such as surfactants or other specific chemicals is also sought to further diversify the company’s product lines
- Previous experience working for a manufacturing/chemical company a plus
- Successful track record of selling in a distribution or trading marketplace
- Ability to sell at all levels
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, or related technical focus
- MBA and chemistry background a plus
- The ability to use technology to the fullest including, CRM, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and Microsoft D365
- Positive reputation in market and track record of increasing profitable sales
- Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills; the ability to develop working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization which enhances productivity and improves results.
- Excellent sales skills, business acumen and personal judgment developed through previous experience with interactions with people at all levels of the business.
- Ability to qualify, select, negotiate, and leverage partnerships with customers.
- Ability to work effectively with internal peers and support teams.
- Must be physically and intellectually able to perform the duties of the job: must be able and willing to travel domestically to meet the objectives and requirements of the role.
