Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager will have direct responsibility for all sales and profitability for gear tool business of NIDEC Machine Tool America throughout the U.S. region of CA, WA, OR, AZ, NM, WY, ID CO, UT, MT NV AND BC. Complete managerial responsibility for all gear machine business except for defined Japanese transplant companies. The incumbent will participate in and provide guidance in all strategic decisions nd planning for gear machine sales activities within this sales region.
Job Description
Gear machine sales business management related activities in the assigned area including but not limited to as follows:
- Overall planning for sales and profit of gear tool business in assigned region
- Maintain/build sales pipeline to achieve gear tool sales and profit target.
- Manage the sales process for all customers in the assigned region including cultivating customer relationships, responding to inquiries, providing proposals, effective follow up, closing sales and assisting in the collection of receivables.
- Promotional, marketing activities to recognize NIDEC Products in the assigned market. Create reports that will be consolidated and presented to Japan regarding sales and market conditions, new products/information of competitor(s).
- Periodically reporting to supervisor and NMTA. Attend meetings that NMTA arranges in Michigan as well as required by Japan.
- Communicate with NMTA sales team, NMTA service team and all other teammates to ensure effective communications in all business aspects surrounding the assigned region.
- Exert your best effort to market/promote the Products and achieve Product sales, undertaking at all times for maximum market exposure, penetration and profitability.
- Maintain current customers’ business satisfaction, secure new customers and identify potential customers in the assigned region in order to achieve bookings and complete sales of NMTA Products. Use all tools made available to you by NMTA including, without limitation, and within the approved expense budget, direct contact negotiations with customers concerning terms and conditions of sales subject, in each instance, to the express approval of the VP of Sales and/or President / GM
- Manage customer accounts and shall have primary responsibility for ensuring such customer's satisfaction with Products in coordination with the VP of Sales and/or President / GM
- Keep yourself knowledgeable about and familiar with the NMTA Products, and convey to NMTA all relevant information relating to the marketing and sales of Products which you gain from sources outside NMTA.
- Assist NMTA officers and employees in such ways as will promote the business goals of NMTA and advise them on Product related matters and matters related to other products as to which you may have special knowledge by reason of your experience.
- Attend such meetings and conferences as NMTA may require
- Assist NMTA if it advertises Products in national or local publications, or displays Products at exhibitions whenever it is required
- Collect receivables in an expeditious manner consistent with industry standards;
- Prepare and submit related periodic reports and analyses as NMTA or the VP Sales and/or President /GM may require from time to time relating to marketing and selling efforts made and planned, prospective customers, potential sales and other matters relating to the Products of NMTA
The following such action or initiative shall be reported to and approved in advance by the VP Sales and/or President /GM.
- Making and/or changing contracts with customers and/or dealers
- The establishing of credit lines for the customers, extending credit to such customers, or making any other financing arrangement with such customers;
- Retaining or terminating Product distributors or sales representatives
- Making or modifying of agreements or contracts with manufacturers or suppliers of Products or Products components;
- Any other items that may come up from time to time that the VP Sales and/or President /GM specially indicates the need for prior approval.
- Perform other work duties as assigned by the VP Sales and or Presdient relating to the sales and marketing of the products, administrative duties, and other functions customarily performed by a sales consultant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification;
- 5 years’ Career Experience in the Gear Technology business;
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and non-technical concepts clearly and concisely;

Up to 70% Business Travel
