Job description
Blue Diamond Industries is currently seeking a Territory Sales Manager in the northeast part of the US (must live in WI, IA, IL, OH, IN, MI, or MN), to add to our growing team. HDPE Conduit experience preferred!
The principal purpose of this job is to achieve planned HDPE conduit sales and profit margin in the assigned region by managing the sale engagement and services.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Plan, implement, and manage BDI sales effort in assigned territory for the HDPE Conduit Products. Primary objective of this position is to maximize BDI conduit sales to a wide range of market applications from Residential, Power Utility, Cable TV, Broadband, Commercial & Industrial, Department of Transportation and the Telecommunication infrastructure markets in assigned territory both today and the future.
- Creates and develops contact with existing and potential customers.
- Analyzes existing and anticipated customer requirements and promotes consideration of company products to fill such requirements.
- Conducts briefings and technical meetings for top management.
- Provide regular communication of significant or consequential territory issues, including call reports and monthly reports to the Sales Manager on a timely basis. Maintain an understanding of all major Opportunities/Projects in territory through regular review (monthly at a minimum) of each manufacturer’s representative.
- Interacts with equivalent level managers concerning matters of significance to the company.
- Establish rapport with all internal resources. Maintain sufficient product knowledge of BDI products and their applications to recognize opportunities and communicate them internally to achieve maximum advantage.
- Manage accounts and manufacturers’ reps over a multi-state territory – Meet and exceed projected territory YoY sales targets (Booking and Sales) while identifying new customers and seeking their business.
- Track current market trends within the company and its competitors.
- Other various duties as assigned by manager
Education and Experience
- Four (4) years experience in territory management and/or sales.
- Experience in the sales of HDPE Conduit preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage mutliple tasks, balance multiple projects, and priorities.
- Proven track record of building relationships with potential accounts as well as effective collaboration with all levels of management within the organization.
- Proven sales record.
- Ability to target and prioritize key customers.
- Proven track record of dealing with manufacturer representatives and distributors domestically and internationally.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be proactive and use analytical skills to pursue potential leads.
- Must be creative problem solver and a self-starter.
- Perform other duties as required (longer hours required at times).
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to work effectively in an unstructured environment with minimum supervision.
- Travel 50%-75% (Project dependent).
