Pay Range: $18 – 25
Location: Monterey, CA
Reports To: HR Generalist

Mission: Hayward will be the most dependable supplier of products, services and solutions to the construction market, as it has been since 1919.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by understanding organization plans and objectives, working closely with branch management, and meeting with managers to discuss needs. Is co-responsible with local manager for filling open positions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinates and manages the flow of candidates through the recruitment process, from scheduling interviews to bringing new employees on board.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies and tactics to meet the company’s new talent needs.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits.
  • Maintains a dashboard of KPIs to ensure job responsibilities are met and continually improve by reducing number of staff vacancies and time to fill vacancies.
  • Networks through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and employees.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.
  • Participates in job/career fairs and coordinates college recruiting initiatives.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging company tours.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation and enforcing regulations with managers.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in recruiting and talent acquisition
  • Experience in retail or lumber industry a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, phone skills, communication, and interviewing skills
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Strong skills Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
