We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Recreation Programs Manager. Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, provides oversight for Center programming to include camps, clinics, preschool, childcare (if applicable) special events, and fitness, interviews, and hires staff for the facility. Oversees licensed and non-licensed programs. A successful candidate will have leadership capabilities, effective communication skills, team-building abilities, and self-motivation. PRCS serves a diverse population including but not limited to youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
We are currently hiring at the following location:
- Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center, Sterling, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manages budget and expenses of the program and function.
- Oversees Recreation Center staffing.
- Provides support to the Center Advisory Board and develop marketing plan designs.
- Designs, develops, and implements community education and outreach initiatives.

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree; three (3) years of related work experience in recreation programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's in Recreation, Business Administration or related field.
- Knowledge of computer operations including word processing and related office applications, software applications, and databases used by the Department.
- Knowledge of principles and practices, techniques, programs, and equipment required for assigned duties.
- Ability to provide training, work direction, and guidance to assigned staff.
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
Criminal background, credit checks, Child Protective Services (CPS) and DMV records check required. Valid driver's license and pass TB test within 30 days of hire. First Aid/CPR and OSHA (Bloodborne pathogens) certifications within 90 days of hire; hold or obtain certifications desired by Department for specific assigned area.
