Receptionist/Customer Service

Heartland Building Center Hays, KS, a Mead Lumber Company, has an excellent opportunity for a quality individual with a great customer service aptitude and a passion for construction and building materials who is looking for Full-Time position.

Previous retail sales experience is a plus but will train the right candidates.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy. Learn proper procedures for orders, special orders, purchase orders, returns, payment on account, and merchandise receiving • Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant and effective manner.
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements. • Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers. Process customers quickly, efficiently and effectively.
Process cash, credit card and charge transactions accurately following all company procedures.•
Issue proper receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers. Count cash drawer at opening and close every day.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training: High School degree. A willingness to learn•
Experience in a retail environment either in cashier, sales, or back office. While not a requirement, experience in the hardware environment would be helpful.• A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction.• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
