North Dakota Reading Corps & Math Corps is seeking tutors to help Kindergarten through 5th grade students who need extra support learning to read and with math for the school year. Locations include Bismarck, Fargo, Jamestown and West Fargo, ND.

Reading Corps tutors work one on one with a caseload of K- 3rd grade students for 20 minute sessions each on a set daily schedule. Math Corps work with pairs of student grades 4th through 8th. All training and materials provided.

These part-time AmeriCorps position requires a commitment for the entire school year September to May, 5 days a week. Tutors work during the school day while school is in session. Two schedule options are available: Reduced Half Time (4 hours a day) with a monthly stipend of $820 and an education award of $2,360 or Half Time (5.5 hours a day) with a monthly stipend of $1,100 and an education award of $3,097.50.

AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides monthly stipends in lieu of an hourly wage. The education award can be used for college tuition and current student loans. Tutors who are 55 or older may choose to transfer their education award to a child, grandchild or foster child.
