Radiology Patient Coordinator

New York Cancer and Blood Specialist (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a Radiology Patient Coordinator to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day per week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.
In this role you will:
- Handle high volume calls, address voicemails.
- Be responsible for the daily opening and closing procedures of the office.
- Welcome all patients and visitors by greeting them in a pleasant, professional manner.
- Manage Daily reports as directed.
- Collect co-pays and balance total finances of the office on a daily basis.
- Ensure scheduled in correct time slots.
- Ensure patients are prescreened.
- Assist patients calling directly to schedule in-house radiology appointments, approvals/denials
- Schedule and coordinate radiology appointments from outside referring physicians (i.e. bone density, mammo's, CTA's, bone scans, PET, CT, MRI, etc.)
- Assist patients in all modalities with confirmations, including prep, diet, instructions, medication questions, radiation questions, length of time and dress code.
- Schedule Management, including but not limited to chart checking (verifying cases are authorized, appropriate labs are completed and prior images have been requested and/or received).
- Facilitate phone calls from inter-offices with questions about reports, Stat cases, appointment availability, add on's, scheduling issues and orders, etc.
- Assist patients calling to obtain results and prior images.
We require:
- Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.
- A clean and valid New York State Driver’s License.
- At least one year of Radiology experience.
- Microsoft Word skills. EMR experience helpful.
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills.
- Previous experience an asset
- Vaccination against Covid-19
Hours: Monday–Friday
Salary up to $29 Per Hour and benefits including Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance on day 1 of employment, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long term disability, 401k Plan, generous PTO time, 8 paid holidays (2 floating) and more.
