Your role at Clorox:
The Brita R&D team is seeking a consumer-obsessed packaging expert to join our agile group of scientists. The Brita team lives its mission of enabling better water for people and the planet by delivering on this promise through packaging and product innovation. Packaging is an essential vehicle to communicate both our values and value to the consumer.
As a Sr. Packaging Scientist, you will bring new ideas and innovation to our products and packaging, delivering against the broader Clorox sustainability commitments and Brita vision.
In this role, you will:

Provide a technical Packaging voice for Brita business, including primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for filters, pitcher systems, bottles, and faucet mount devices.

Ensure technical requirements and consumer needs are delivered, using packaging to clearly communicate the Brita values and value.

Bring/Develop expertise in all areas of Brita packaging, particularly injection molding, along with paperboard/corrugate retail and ecom packaging (including development and testing of ships-in-own-container packaging), and flexible packaging.

Lead packaging-focused projects, partnering with subject matter experts, cross-functional partners and project managers, while contributing to other projects with an enterprise perspective and technical thought leadership.

Establish and grow relationship with external partners.

Identify gaps in consumer needs and trends on packaging, influencing business partners.

Represent one R&D voice balancing risk, impact, speed, and decision-making complexity.

Work through manufacturing partners to understand local supply limitations and recommend improvements while maintaining consumer experience.
What we look for:

Bachelors or Masters in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent years of industry experience

Minimum: 5+ years as a packaging developer in consumer product goods companies or applicable field

Strong internal motivation, robust planning, communication with technical and cross functional teams, critical thinking, problem solving under unique constraints, ability to work independently, patient

Must be willing to travel 10-20%, including internationally
Workplace type:
Hybrid: Will work 2-3 days each week onsite in the Pleasanton, CA office and will be remote the rest of the week.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $101,100 - $194,200
–Zone B: $92,700 - $178,000
–Zone C: $84,300 - $161,800

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
