Responsibilities of the R&D Product Manager
- Manage product life cycle and drive business development for assigned products
- Identify and evaluate modifications and development of products in relation to market needs and prepare recommendations to R&D
- Prepare recommendations to management about the viability of alternative product opportunities
- Create clear product strategy and roadmap for respective markets
- Communicate the roadmap to key stakeholders and work with marketing, sales, operations, and R&D to derivate a strong value proposition
- Drive voice of the customer process for product initiatives (both existing products and new development) and translate into profitable growth of the portfolio
- Attend customer sites to gather business opportunities and insights for product initiatives and to enable value-based selling
- Increase product profitability within all regions, including customized products
- Support sales in product and application knowledge
Qualifications of the R&D Product Manager
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering; major in Refrigeration, Ventilation, Air Conditioning preferred
- Previous experience in a large industrial company is advantageous
- Experience with industrial air handling units or commercial air conditioning a plus
- Experience working abroad in different culture(s) a plus
- Proactive, positive, and willing to change
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture and operational and financial implications
