Quality Technician (Manufacturing)
Job description
Summary:
Sigma Electronics is seeking a Quality Technician who is looking for a challenge to use acquired skills in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The individual will be working under the supervision of the Quality Manager and assisting with the development and implementation of quality inspection activities and the detection and resolution of problems that will ensure that customer specifications are being met and enforce company quality objectives on the production floor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Test department with Preliminary and Final test inspection issues and quality alerts.
- Plan, execute and document random in-process inspections within the production, Test and Warehouse departments.
- Assist with creating, sending out, and following up with customer Deviation Request for products that do not meet specification.
- Document, maintain, track, and follow up on NCRs (Non-Conformances) and CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) using TQA Cloud Software.
- Maintain outsourced scheduled calibration of test and production equipment according to ISO 9001.
- Track, document and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly Quality levels/measurable objectives.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Sales on RMA request from customers.
- Receive, troubleshoot and document RMA units and provide Failure Analysis report.
- Develop digital media and other training aids to help with documentation and operator training.
- Educate and train production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company product quality and safety.
- Assist Quality Manager with yearly ISO 9001 audit functions.
- Attend QA related meetings and travel to Mexico facility for QA support and training as required.
- Perform other related duties as required
Required Education/Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Quality Assurance/Control and Testing experience
Preferred Experience:
- Associates Degree in Quality Assurance/Quality Management, Electronics Engineering Technology or related Technical Degree PREFERRED
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Internal Auditor certification (ISO 9001:2015)
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management standards
- Knowledge of ERP Software
- Basic Electrical/Electronics schematic and Engineering mechanical drawing interpretation
- Proficient in operating various inspection tools (Microscope, Caliper, Ruler, Gauge Blocks)
- Preferred Proficient in operating various types of electronic testing equipment (automatic/manual testers, LCR meters, high voltage testers)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Microsoft Teams knowledge is a plus
- Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
