Ryder is hiring for a Quality Technician in Hagerstown, MD!
This position is responsible for ensuring quality expectations including, but not limited to employee safety, food safety, sanitation and quality systems.
About the position:
- Consistent pay: $21.50/hour
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm *Subject to Change*
Requirements:
- Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Quality Manager with administrative tasks
- Coordinate with the manager the quality management system procedure updates
- Assist with the preparation of material needed for employee training programs
- Assist in the scheduling and tracking of audits
- Track, record, and compile data associated with the document control process
- Manage, file, and organize quality assurance documentation
- Perform periodic quality audits on the production floor as required
- Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods
- Customer service
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
- Knowledge of WMS preferred
- Data entry
- Math & statistics skills
- Perform work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience
- Two (2) years in a similar position
- One (1) year of document control
- One (1) year of quality control (auditing process)
Other requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

- Associate's Degree
- Previous experience in food grade facility
- Experience with GMPs, FDA, USDA, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Verify and monitor relevant finished packaging codes as it relates to specifications
- Assist in effectively inspecting product for quality issues and remove defects/contaminants such as stones, wood, glass, plastic, etc., prior to packaging in accordance to specifications
- Perform timely checks to meet specifications
- Provide supervisors/managers with proper quality documentation as required
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) with emphasis on safety
- Maintain qualify to meet all standards required by FDA, USDA, etc.
- Ensure product quality to meet Customer, state and federal guidelines
- Other duties as required or assigned
