IN A NUTSHELL
The Quality Specialist, working under the direction of the Quality Manager, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production quality assurance. The Quality Specialist's responsibilities include inspecting materials, processes and products, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards and regulations, implementing quality control actions, and contributing to the development of improved production processes and procedures. They will provide quality support to the production process from the planning phase to project completion and promptly resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Develop and implement quality assurance plans to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report on all activities, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop internal auditing tools and metrics for quality assurance, conduct internal audits, and provide reports to management.
  • Analyze statistical data, determine data-driven solutions and implement quality improvement plans.
  • Perform regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to quality and safety policies.
  • Develop (or document) standard operating procedures/policies and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Provide departments with quality planning and support as needed.
  • Conduct or assist with regulatory and quality training sessions.
  • Examine raw materials and determine defects or potential risks.
  • Recommend improvements in the materials.
  • Perform regular quality checks and tests to ensure high standards of quality and report to management.
  • Implement and maintain LEAN practices to reduce waste and cost
  • Promote safety within your organization.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Associates or BS in Quality Control or related degree.
  • 2+ years of experience working with quality systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
  • Experience in Power BI a plus.
  • Excellent decision-making and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive strong relationships with great interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Respectful and professional written and verbal communicator.
  • Must be analytical, organized, and have high level of attention to detail.
