Myat, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of radio and TV broadcasting equipment with a history of excellence since 1951. Myat also manufactures microwave equipment for industrial heating applications, products for radar applications, and products for particle accelerators. All design and assembly activities are completed at our Mahwah, New Jersey headquarters. We support assembly with in-house machining and welding. This position will maintain our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, and supervise the Myat inspection department.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the Quality Inspection department and implement inspection and record keeping procedures as needed to satisfy internal needs and customer needs.
- Maintain ISO 9001:2015 compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
- Train personnel to QMS requirements.
- Perform QMS internal audits and manage accreditation audits.
- Conduct root-cause and corrective actions as necessary to address nonconformances produced by Myat and its vendors.
- Address customer complaints and return requests (RMA) as needed.
- Assure tool and gage registration and calibration system is maintained.
- Stay appraised of measurement tools and technology and make recommendations as needed.
- Learn to operate and program Keyence IM (Vision System) and XM (handheld CMM) to support inspection department. Approve new inspection programs as needed.
- Designate inspection sampling rates and monitor quality inspection records for trends.
- Perform disposition on product nonconformances.
- Assist vendors to supply products that meet our specifications. This may include vendor visits for evaluation, drawing review, or source inspection. Provide feedback to vendors that do not meet expectations and assist purchasing with supplier approval.
- Stay appraised of regulatory requirements for materials such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA, and ensure Myat complies with all applicable laws. Maintain compliance statements and answer customer questions and requests as required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 and QMS designed around it.
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor is a strong plus.
- Requires 3-5 years minimum experience. Knowledge of materials and stress analysis is needed.
- Experience using inspection tools, including hand tools, optical devices and/or CMM is needed. Experience using Keyence IM or XM is a plus.
- Experience specifying tolerance, fits, and finishes for mechanical parts is needed.
- Good oral and written communication skills are needed.
