Springs Fabrication is hiring a Quality Engineer I/II for a full-time role job in Colorado Springs, CO.
As a Quality Engineer I/II will participate in the implementation of the Sprngs Fabrication, LLC.

Quality Engineer I / II
SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Flows down customer and other contractual requirements into work orders and processes, purchase orders, and supplier contract agreements.
- Establishes inspection control plans.
- Coordinates with other departments finding resolution to quality issues and nonconformances.
- Reviews quotes for quality flow-down, NDE and inspection requirements and provides feedback on capability, time, and cost.
- Performs audits and quality reviews of suppliers for maintenance and implementation of Approved Supplier List processes.
- Performs Gage R&R throughout the shop with calibrated tools and equipment used for qualification.
- Supports the Quality Manager in Continuous Improvement Program initiatives.
- Supports quality assurance inspection personnel with inspection of product as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certificate or equivalent. 7+ years’ experience with metal fabrication and/or machining and 2+ years' experience with mechanical inspection or equivalent experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) obtained within two years of employment.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to utilize handheld measurement tools, i.e. calipers, micrometers, bore gages, steel rule, tape measure, etc. Must be proficient in blueprint reading: fabrication, machined, sheet metal, and pipe. Must be familiar with quality documentation, AWS and ASME standards. Must be familiar in the basics of using computers. Must be able to independently make decisions within the scope of this job description.
