Qualified Mental Health Professional Overview:
Under the general direction of the Team Leader and/or Program Manager, the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides cooperative efforts with all program staff and management to develop and integrate services for the agency. All services are performed in accordance with the standards of clinical practice established by the State of Missouri and the policies and procedures of ReDiscover.
This role requires proactive multitasking and coordination. The QMHP must embrace ReDiscover’s aspirational culture of respect, excellence-focused, dedication, inclusion, strategic, compassionate, optimistic, visionary, engaging, and recovery-driven.
Strategy & Planning
- Evaluates client’s mental health condition based on review of client information, including bio-psycho-social assessments, psychological evaluation and diagnostics. Collecting information about the client through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.
- Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience, knowledge, and understanding of the client’s information and history. Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Counsels clients, individually and in group sessions specific to the program format, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients treatment.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for the client(s) being served.
Operational Management
- Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Acts with integrity by observing ReDiscover policy/procedures, accreditation standards, laws and ethics.
- Supports the strategic goals and mission/vision/values of ReDiscover when interacting with clients, co-workers and community stakeholders.
- Contributes to the mission of ReDiscover by adjusting work priorities and duties as needed to meet unforeseen demands.
- Exhibits independent discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance on a daily basis.

- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field. A Masters' Degree is preferred from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field.
- Candidate must possess one of the following:
- An active Missouri clinical license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- A licensed as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) or Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC).
- A "C" level or higher certification from the Missouri Substance Abuse Professional Credentialing Board.
- This includes credentials such as;
- Certified Reciprocal Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRADC),
- Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRAADC),
- Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP),
- Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP),
- Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomat (CCDP-D), Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor - Provisional (RADC-P).
- Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC)
- At least two (2) years of experience providing counseling to persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
- Acts with integrity by observing ReDiscover policy/procedures, accreditation standards, laws, and ethics.
- Self-driven individual with a customer service focus
- Team-oriented and skilled in collaborating with others
