POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

ABOUT AUGUSTA TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Augusta Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, is a two-year college located in Augusta, Georgia. Since its opening in 1961, Augusta Technical College remains dedicated to promoting the educational, economic, and community development in its service area (Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, McDuffie, and Richmond Counties). The college offers over 100 academic programs in high-demand areas such as Allied Health Sciences & Nursing, Business, Public & Professional Services, Cyber, Digital and Engineering Technologies accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The college also offers adult education/GED, ESL, and continuing education programs through the Division of Economic Development.

Salary: $20 per hour for 19.5 hours

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in higher education, social sciences, administration or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in higher education preferably in an academic or administrative unit supporting academic assessment at the institutional, program or unit level.

Reporting

The QEP Coordinator will report to the Provost.

Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of data.
  • Ability to work with various levels of college staffing- faculty, staff, and administrators.

Job Summary

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a document developed by the institution as part of the SACSCOC reaffirmation process that (1) includes a process identifying key issues emerging from institutional assessment, (2) focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution, (3) demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP, (4) includes broadbased involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP, and (5) identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement. Augusta Technical College’s QEP focuses on supporting students as they develop information literacy skills. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be familiar with the Association of College and Research Libraries Higher Education Framework.
  • Have knowledge of the Standardized Assessment of Information Literacy (SAILS).
  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders across the college to manage a 5-year (2023-2027) project.
  • Research and design online module focused on academic integrity and research and citation styles.
  • Track learning outcomes across multiple disciplines.
  • Make and document data-informed decisions.
  • Provide status updates and present findings internally and externally to the college community.
  • Promote college wide participation and compliance with SACSCOC standard 7.2.
  • Lead the college’s QEP Steering and Implementation Teams.
  • In collaboration with the Provost/SACSCOC Liaison, submit QEP initial and subsequent reports.
