FULL TIME - Location: 301 W. Hurst Blvd., Hurst, TX - Factory -

This a 2nd shift position 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

SUMMARY:
The QC Technician I/II performs laboratory testing following specific test methods to ensure raw materials, WIP, and finished products meet the required specifications. This position maintains physical and electronic records and reports of all batches.

QUALIFICATIONS:
College level course work in sciences is preferred, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Engineering or a science-related field a plus.
Demonstrated aptitude to perform mathematical calculations and to understand scientific principles.
Demonstrated ability to perform reliable accurate batch testing and to record, report, and retrieve data efficiently in both physical and electronic form.
Accurate record keeping skills to track data, raw materials, WIP, and batches throughout the entire production process and shelf life of the product.
Well-developed ability to effectively communicate technical information and concepts.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, software applications, and databases.
Detail and goal-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task.
Must be safety orientated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test raw materials, WIP, and batch samples in the Lab and plant floor in accordance with standard test methods and company technical specifications.
Assist with batches additions to resolve technical issues and bring them into specification, in order to maintain adherence to the production schedule.
Record test results on batch tickets and enter batch results into database.
Support tracking and reporting of all data, samples, retains, raw materials, WIP and finished product.
Assist with Micro and plant Hygiene testing.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
Assist with ordering Lab Supplies
Perform other routine and non-routine duties as assigned by management.
Follow all plant and Kelly-Moore corporate policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to move, carry and/or lift to 25-pound bags, cartons, and containers.
Ability to regularly use a computer for various applications including formula management, word processing, technical and business presentations, mathematical and statistical analysis, and internet-based research.
Ability to safely operate mechanical equipment that shakes, spins, and vibrates.
Ability to work a regular schedule in a laboratory and plant environment that includes dust, fumes, noise, and odors.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
