GENERAL SUMMARY

MAC Wholesale is an industry leading distributor of closeouts and excess inventory. As the Purchasing
Manager, you will lead our talented buying team and oversee all purchasing operations. Our purchasing team builds and maintains relationships with the world’s largest consumer product brands to purchase closeouts.
The buying process involves a combination of lead generation, relationship building, market analysis and product research, price negotiation, and logistics. Our buyers maintain relationships through the utilization of our CRM system, as well as with in person attendance at many of each industry’s annual tradeshows. We utilize best in class technology to manage the deal flow pipeline and maximize each step of lead generation and negotiation in the purchasing process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

● Manages buying team and maintains purchasing operations
● Motivates the buying team to achieve purchasing goals
● Reviews and approves purchasing offer proposals within determined margin requirements
● Manages CRM system for purchasing contacts and deal pipeline
● Oversees vendor communication strategy and frequency
● Supports VP of Sales in an aligned merchandising strategy
● Plans buying team’s attendance to industry tradeshows, and attends shows as needed
● Builds & maintains relationships with vendors to purchase closeouts & excess inventory
● Negotiates pricing and purchasing terms with vendors, as needed
● Approves all initial product “sell pricing” when purchases are priced for sale to customers
● Reviews and approves product samples
● Ensures purchases are packed and picked up in an efficient manner
● Ensures purchases are in compliance with applicable laws and test results are available, when required
● Monitors the market and adjusts purchasing strategy based upon trends and customer feedback
● Some travel required, not likely to exceed more than once per month on average

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
● Minimum 3 years previous experience in a senior buying role
● Off-price experience preferred
● Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
● Requires expertise in Microsoft Excel
● Experience with CRM systems preferred
