We're looking for a Purchasing Associate to join our team! As a Purchasing Associate, you will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of materials and services for our company. You will work closely with our team of buyers to ensure that all purchasing activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. Purchasing Associate Duties:
- Oversee the purchasing procedures of materials, supplies, and equipment for use in projects, with the goal of purchasing competitively at the lowest prices possible
- Research and select suppliers based on quality and price.
- Create purchase orders based on specifications, specifications, and directives from Manager.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Check in shipments to ensure quality.
- Follow up on suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality goods/materials.
- Research pricing trends to ensure the company receives the best value.
Purchasing Associate Responsibilities:
- Assist in supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Maintain and update contract files for project status, milestone achievements, and obligations.
- Research sources for material prices and negotiate volume discounts.
- Create and approve invoices for payment.
- Coordinate receipt, storage, and delivery of materials.
- Procure materials, and services for projects.
- Coordinate shipment and storage of materials and equipment
- Research design trends, products, and suppliers
- Assist in project/site audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years’ experience in purchasing or similar role
- Logistics experience in domestic and international freight
- Knowledge of purchasing, contract, and specification writing
- Experience working with purchasing and inventory management software.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
