Position Summary: Allivet is looking for a dedicated and ambitious Purchasing Agent to join our growing team. The Purchasing Agent reports to the Purchasing Assistant Manager and is responsible for optimizing existing procurement processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings, processing purchase orders and validating receipt of purchased goods and services. To be a successful Purchasing Agent, you should be able to critically assess suppliers, communicate results and issues to management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments to determine requirements for equipment, materials, and products.
- Entering and maintaining product specifications into purchasing system.
- Evaluate new and existing vendors based on price, quality, reliability, service, support, and previous transaction history.
- Issuing purchase orders, monitoring status of orders, including purchase order follow up. Ensuring the decrease of product back orders and reducing customer order cancellations.
- Addressing and resolving receiving discrepancies and issues with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory stock levels, forecast purchasing needs, and determine appropriate timing, pricing, and quantities for scheduling of future orders.
- Coordinate with Purchasing Assistant Manager to ensure purchasing remains in line within budget.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications:
- Entry-level purchasing experience
- Ecommerce experience preferred but not required.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Team oriented with the ability to work well with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education:
- College degree or equivalent experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $53,097.00 - $56,860.00 per year
