Job description
- Retrieve and review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Accurately process invoices for payment
- Process and manage blanket purchase orders
- Maintain vendor records for legal compliance and reporting
- Effectively communicate with vendors and district employees to resolve invoicing issues, or research payment information as requested
- Use the application system to retrieve AP records and pertinent documentation (including invoices, receipts, purchase orders and quotes) in accordance with district policy and accepted accounting practices
- Continuously improve payment process
- Assist with preparing purchase orders
- Audit credit card statements
- Assist with resolving purchase order discrepancies
- Perform other purchasing and administrative tasks as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required, college courses in accounting and purchasing preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of accounts payable process. Two years or more of accounts payable or purchasing experience in school district preferred
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Skyward a plus
