This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under general supervision, the class administers and monitors a public health program of moderate scope and magnitude typically provided by delegate agencies and health care professionals; and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Schedule, coordinate and conduct immunization quality improvement (IQIP) provider visits to identify opportunities for process improvement and provide technical assistance and other resources.
- Generate reports of provider-level vaccination coverage data for baseline, follow-up and measurement of progress.
- Collaborate with practice staff through additional telephone check-ins between 2 and 6 months to provide support for the implementation of quality Improvement strategies and related activities.
- Conducting 12-month follow-ups to assess implementation progress for the selected Quality Improvement strategies.
- Work closely with other members of the Immunization Program to implement immunization activities.
- Manage and evaluate assessment data collected during provider visits and work closely with immunization staff to ensure data quality and to track immunization coverage levels.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data along with making insightful recommendations that identify training needs.
- Assist providers in development and implementation of quality improvement plans that implements strategies to increase immunization coverage levels.
- Participate in additional immunization education activities as needed, including training for medical assistants, office managers, physicians, nurses, and internal staff.
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings to collaborate and plan with members of the Immunization Program
- Collaborate with members of other divisions of CDPH to address immunization related initiatives.
- Support immunization activities throughout CDPH in the case of a vaccine preventable disease outbreak or public health emergencies as required.
- Participate in community vaccination event and immunization activities as needed
Perform related duties as required.
Additional duties may be required for this position.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday
8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Some additional hours may be required in case of public health emergency.
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field supplemented by two years of progressively responsible experience in the administration of public health programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
- Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Previous work with local, state and grant programs pertaining to requirements and procedures.
- Previous project management experience.
- Previous experience working for an Immunization Program in a Public Health setting.
- Level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
