We're currently looking for engaged staff writers to research, write, edit and manage newsworthy content for print publications, news releases, brochures, electronic newsletters, briefing booklets, online newsrooms, social media and websites. This Orlando Metro Area-based position creates and manages content for state departments of transportation, transit agencies, the Federal Highway Administration, and city and county public works departments.

A background in website copy writing, business writing, safety, technology or intelligent transportation systems (ITS) is a plus. Also, candidates who have experience with government clients/agencies and proposal/grant writing will be considered ideal for this role. You’ll be working with our award-winning graphics and video department to tell stories most effectively. Describing the benefits of connected and autonomous vehicles and the importance of traffic incident management teams will be a key focus.

Expectations:

· Keep abreast of the latest trends and news in state Departments of Transportation, AV/CV/ITS technologies

· Be prompt, courteous and able to interact with multiple client management teams on a regular basis.

· Maintain efficiency and accuracy while working well under pressure.

· Professional demeanor while interviewing sources.

· Manage time wisely and prioritize task list appropriately.

· Respond to business development and client needs, including writing news releases, newsletter articles and managing photo and video shoots during conferences, which may require early morning, late night and occasional weekend hours.

· Occasional travel for meetings, conference attendance, news events and on-going newsgathering activities.

· Ability to contribute to responses for RFPs from government and private agencies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years related experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
